And just like that, we have a new quarterback! Jared Goff, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams, will replace Matthew Stafford! Here’s what he had to say about the trade deal.
“I’m just excited to be somewhere that I know wants and appreciates me,” Goff told NFL.com over the weekend. “I’m moving forward and couldn’t be more excited to build a winner there. I’m excited about (new Lions coach) Dan (Campbell) and the whole staff.”
The Lions are sending Stafford to Los Angeles in return for a third-rounder in this year’s draft and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 to go with Goff.
