Day 4 of the stay at home executive order here in Michigan. Haven't went to the grocery store in quite some time, but the last time I went, while at check-out, I was really uncomfortable with how close this woman behind me was. I thought “should I say something? I don’t want to offend her”. I decided my health and comfort level was more important than hurting a grown woman’s feelings. I turned around and said, “Hi, can you please give me a little more space?” She responded by saying “Sure honey”... I gathered she understood where I was coming from. This is a new norm and it is going to take some time for us all to adjust and break old habits. I was proud that I spoke up for myself and happy that she understood. We are in this together and need to protect ourselves and others! Don’t be afraid to speak up!
