President Barack Obama responds to the mass shootings

In response to the two mass shootings in less than 24 hrs. over the weekend, one in Dayton and another in El Paso, President Barack Obama was compelled to release an online statement. The message that was posted on Facebook read in part:

“No other developed nation tolerates the levels of gun violence that we do.”

He went on to address the racist rhetoric as of late saying,

“ We should soundly reject language coming out of the mouths of any of our leaders that feeds a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments; leaders who demonize those who don’t look like us, or suggest that other people, including immigrants, threaten our way of life, or refer to other people as sub-human, or imply that America belongs to just one certain type of people.”

It sounds like he’s talking to Trump directly…I wish he would have called him out by name, but he’s way too classy for that!
