Today was a historic day in the D!The popular summertime venue once called “Chene Park” was renamed in honor of Detroit’s daughter.The Queen of Soul’s legacy lives on at Atwater and Chene as The Aretha Franklin Amphitheater! Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, City Council President Brenda Jones joined The Right Productions and the Franklin family in this special dedication and unveiling.Ms. Franklin’s niece spoke at the event and said that Ms. Franklin considered this one of Detroit’s gems and would be honored to have it named after her!
