Frankie Beverly gives a thumbs up to the #BeforeILetGoChallenge

I have said many times that “Before I Left Go” by Frankie Beverly and Maze is a Black National Anthem. When the song comes on at a party, family reunion, or wedding, no matter how old you are, you sing along!Who would have ever thought that the song would get any bigger…well, until Beyoncé touched it!She did a remake of the classic 80s R&B song that was featured in her groundbreaking “Homecoming” project. This spawned a #BeforeILetGoChallenge that has taken over social media.Frankie Beverly himself has spoken out and is proud of the movement.

He’s what he had to say.

“I feel bigger than ever! I feel like I have a huge smash out there. It’s definitely a blessing. Other people have done my songs, but the way she did this was in a class of its own. I’m hearing from people I haven’t heard from in years. She’s done something that has affected my life. I haven’t even spoken to a publication like yours in quite a while. So it’s changed things around for me.”
