An Atlanta native and R&B legend has been tapped to sing the National Anthem at this year's Super Bowl LIII. Gladys Knight will be the first voice you hear on the field for the big game! Her announcement was met with criticism due to the Colin Kaepernick NFL controversy. Her response to this was posted on the league's website.
"I am proud to use my voice to unite and represent our country in my hometown of Atlanta. The NFL recently announced their new social justice platform Inspire Change, and I am honored to be a part of its inaugural year."
