Cassie's legal team has completely dismissed Diddy's attempt to apologize after footage of him kicking and dragging his ex-girlfriend surfaced last week.

On Sunday morning, May 19, Sean "Diddy" Combs posted a video to his Instagram timeline in which he offers an apology for his behavior in the disturbing security tape. He didn't speak directly to his ex nor did he mention her name. Instead, he made a general apology and claimed he "sought professional help." Soon after the video was posted, Cassie's attorney Meredith Firetog told CNN his statement was "more about himself than the many people he has hurt."

"When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday," Firetog continued. "That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”

The Bad Boy founder posted his apology after CNN aired video that showed him assaulting Cassie during an incident on March 5, 2016 at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles. The footage provided multiple angles of him kicking and dragging his ex during an argument. The cable news network reported Diddy spent $50,000 to obtain the damning security footage of the incident, which is also detailed in Cassie's sexual assault lawsuit. In his apologetic video, Diddy said he got therapy and went to rehab for his behavior.

"I’m so sorry," he said. "But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

After he posted the video, there were plenty of mixed reactions from critics like 50 Cent, who was one of many that didn't buy the apology. "This is not going to work, who is advising him right now? SMH bad move," Fif wrote in his caption.

Diddy also had a few supporters in his comment section like Kelly Price. The R&B/gospel singer left a lengthy prayer in the comments of Diddy's post, which drew backlash from fans. See what she had to say about her comments below.
