Before she was ya girl Cheron on the radio, she was singing at weddings, and music has been the thread ever since. A station internship in her home state of Michigan got her started in 2001. Since then she’s been an afternoon traffic reporter, hosted the Quiet Storm, and worked middays and overnights, all with hip-hop and R&B at the heart of it. Upbeat, fun, and lifestyle-driven, she’s also been honored with a community award for her work.

Away from the mic, Cheron is a breast cancer survivor who turned that experience into Cheron’s Sheroes, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit she founded. She’s mom to Blake and Lark, loves to travel, and fuels up with a sugar-free vanilla latte with almond milk, whipped cream, and caramel drizzle. Her playlist? Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Ron Isley, and Angela Winbush, plus René & Angela’s “Your Smile,” which never gets skipped. First concert: Jodeci.
