Putting a 2020 spin on a trend on the rise for years in Metro Detroit, holiday-themed pop-up bars will sell festive beverages to-go.
Customers can start getting into the holiday spirit — from a safe social distance — beginning around Thanksgiving, on November 24.
The Miracle and Sippin’ Santa pop-ups are slated to open in Ferndale and downtown, Eater Detroit reported Thursday (October 29).
“Miracle is a Christmas-themed pop-up cocktail bar that serves holiday cocktails in a festive setting,” according to its website. “With kitschy holiday décor, professionally-developed cocktails and the nostalgic energy of the best office party you’ve ever been to, Miracle is sure to get even the grouchiest grinch in the holiday spirit.”
Owner Greg Boehm initiated the concept in 2014 — taking his mother’s advice — and now he and manager Joann Spiegel operate Miracle locations around the world.
For those missing tropical weather rather than dreaming of a White Christmas, Sippin’ Santa is a “companion pop-up to Miracle that focuses on the themes of tiki and Christmas.”
The festive drinks can also be paired with Christmas cookies and merchandise, including ornaments, mugs and wrapping paper, delivered via contactless curbside pickup. Pre-orders start on November 11, according to Eater Detroit.
The pop-ups will be open through New Year’s Eve.
