Cardi B may have gotten used to publications "using her name for clickbait," but when it comes to outlets using her 14-month-old daughter's name for clicks, the "Press" rapper is understandably not okay with that.
After Access shared a misleading, inaccurate, and since-deleted video titled "Cardi B Admits Baby Kulture Calls Someone Else Mommy Because She Works So Much," accusing the 26-year-old rapper of putting her career and various business ventures before her child, Cardi took to Instagram Live to defend herself. However, the Bronx native's expletive-ridden rant turned into a problematic one after she crossed the line with a controversial comment.
Here's what went down:
Cardi first began her IG Live by explaining that she was mad because a publication painted her as a bad mom. She told fans she recently did an interview with Access Hollywood for her upcoming Netflix show, Rhythm + Flow, and they asked about how her life has changed since she became a mom and how she balances it all.
Her answer, which she recalled on Instagram Live: "A lot of people expect me to be in the studio, and then I gotta do other sh*t, like I filmed for Rhythm + Flow, I filmed for Hustlers, I'm working on f**king Fashion Nova [...] I'm sorry if I take time of my day that I could be five hours in the studio, but I spending five hours with my kid because I could have somebody babysit my f**king kid but it's a wack feeling when your kid not even trying to f**k with you and try to call somebody else mommy. That's why you gotta spend time with your kids."
However, the Hustlers star said they "chopped up" the interview, cut her explanation off and concocted a completely different story to make her look like a bad mom. "Don't use my motherf**king kid for f**king clickbait. Don't cut sh*t off and try to make me look like I'm a f**k sh*t mom," she warned, before saying she plans to spit on Access Hollywood staff when she sees them in the future. "Access Hollywood, suck my whole d*ck. Suck a d*ck. I hope your f**king mom catch AIDS, b*tch."
After issuing a few more NSFW comments, she then declared that she will "never again do press."
Hours later, the "Writing On The Wall" rapper went on Twitter to partly apologize, writing, "Ok guys I feel better now .Sorry for the bullsh*t ....whew Chile I haven’t been this mad since WHAT WAS THE REASON ? ‼️😤."
"You see I been workin my a** off doing my sh*t .I go out I do press run people took my kindness for weakness I felt violated I said how I felt now I am THE INDUSTRY WICKED WITCH AGAIN 😐🙄," she continued. "This is why I don’t be talking or socializing cause it always end up bad for Cardi !"
The Invasion of Privacy rapper then said she plans to delete her social media accounts after he birthday because she's "just OVER IT." And while many people attacked Cardi over her "mom catch AIDS" comment, many fans supported her for sticking up for herself and her daughter.
