February is Heart Health Month and Figure Skating in Detroit (FSD) will host Heart Health LOVE Community Skate Day on Saturday, February 22nd at the City of Detroit’s Adams Butzel Complex Recreation Center in Detroit. Established in 2017 as the first affiliate organization of the Figure Skating in Harlem program, Figure Skating in Detroit is the only out of school time program model in the world for girls of color (ages 6 to 18) that combines the life-transforming power of a science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) STEAM education with access to the artistic, highly technical and rigorous discipline of figure skating. FSD utilizes a creative and practical approach that ignites participants’ interest in science and technology through the lens of figure skating.
The event is free and open to the public. However, capacity is limited. Therefore, please register at registrations@figureskatingindetroit.org.
