Migos rapper Takeoff was killed in an early-morning shooting in Houston yesterday. The 28-year-old rapper in The Migos rap group, whose name is Kirsnick Ball, was shot and killed outside a downtown bowling alley where a private party was being held. According to bystanders, Takeoff’s Uncle, Quavo, (also of the Migos) was arguing with a group of guys. Takeoff and others had Quavo’s back while he argued with the guys about playing basketball and seconds later, a single shot was fired. Then a flurry of gunshots rang out, aimed at a crowd of bystanders. There were reportedly more than 10 shots fired, from at least 2 different guns. Takeoff was reported dead on the scene, with a gunshot to the head or the neck. Houston Police Department held a press conference yesterday afternoon and reported that a 23-year-old male and a 24-year-old female were also shot and are currently hospitalized. Houston police are asking for bystanders and witnesses to the shooting to come forward with information about what happened.
Marlo Thomas was a guest on the new daytime talk show, “Sherri” and she fat shamed the host, our girl, Sherri Shepherd on her own show! Marlo Thomas (“That Girl” star) appeared on Sherri yesterday to promote her upcoming movie and stunned audience members when she reminded Sherri about a time their paths had crossed a few years ago. “I interviewed you for my AOL show,” she recalled, adding “and you were a big one!” Thomas then dug deeper by putting her hand around her body and blowing her face out in an attempt to imitate Sherri’s old size. “You’ve lost a lot of weight, but you’ve still got the boobies! That’s good,” she said. Sherri revealed she “lost like 35 pounds,” and then went over to Marlo Thomas and hugged her while laughing. The Sherri show producers, staffers and a few audience members didn’t find it funny at all.
In other news, multiple celebrities have spoken out about Twitter’s restrictions for hate speech since Elon Musk took over at Twitter. Several celebrities have exited the digital platform, including Shonda Rhimes and Toni Braxton. Rhimes tweeted her 2 million followers that she would not be sticking around for whatever Musk has planned and she ended by saying, “Bye.” Toni Braxton said she does not stand with the “free speech” or the excess of free speech in the app. She has tweeted, hinting that she, too, will be leaving Twitter. LeBron James has expressed concerns about the app’s new guidelines. Last week, LeBron tweeted, “I don’t know Elon Musk and, tbh, I could care less who owns Twitter. But I will say that if this is true, I hope he and his people take this very seriously because this is scary AF."
