Google Honors Sojourner Truth

In honor of the celebration, Google has put abolitionist Sojourner Truth on their doodle for Friday. Philadelphia artist Loveis Wise created the illustration. Wise said, "As a Black woman, illustrating Sojourner Truth was especially personal and meaningful to me. Her journey and persistence inspired major change in both rights for enslaved African-Americans and women." Truth was encouraged to speak out against slavery by Fredrick Douglass and William Lloyd Garrison. She could not read or write. Truth dictated her autobiography in 1850. She also was a key figure in women's equality. Who is your favorite figure in Black History? How do they inspire you?
