Terrence Howard Says He's Quitting Acting After Final Season Of 'Empire'

In yet another surprise retirement announcement, Terrence Howard is done with the world of acting.

During a new interview with Extra on set of the final season of Empire, which will not feature the disgraced Jussie Smollett, Howard snuck in the news, while speaking with special correspondent Miss USA Cheslie Kryst. "What do you think will happen with your career? What do you see yourself doing going forward?" Kryst asked, to which Howard replied, "Oh, I’m done with acting. I’m done pretending." Asked if he'd like to focus on philanthropy or something else instead of acting, the longtime actor said: "No, not philanthropy; I'm just focusing on bringing the truth to the world."

Empire has been on TV for five season since its debut in 2015. Meanwhile, Howard has a lengthy list of hit films under his belt, including The Best Man, Big Momma's House, The Butler, Hustle & Flow.

The announcement arrives months after he was reportedly being investigated for criminal tax evasion. As per documents obtained by The Blast, the federal government is looking into potential financial crimes committed by the actor, his third wife, Mira Pak, and the Universal Bridges Inc., a company reportedly owned by latter. The case is reportedly being handled by the United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
