In this leisure time world of music and entertainment we come in contact with many people. Most of them come and go, very few leave a lasting impression on you. I met John Witherspoon several years ago and it was like we had known each other years, every time he appeared in Detroit and I would go to see him, he would always say "come hear young man let me shake your hand". Yes, not only was John Witherspoon funny, he was serious on life's issues that mattered. He was humble and kind and demanded respect! He was truly a father figure to most.
