The current season of the ABC hit series "The Bachelor," has its most diverse contestant pool to date. The group started with 22 white contestants, and eight girls of color. Now the network is shaking things up with their first ever Black bachelorette.
Rachel Lindsay, a Texas attorney, and current contestant on “The Bachelor” with Nick Viall, was revealed as the next “Bachelorette." On Monday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" the show's host Chris Harrison revealed the networks new "Bachelorette."
ABC Entertainment Group president Channing Dungey, said in a statement, "We need to increase the pool of diverse candidates in the beginning. That is something we really want to put some effort and energy toward."
