Following a jaw-dropping comeback and victory, several players of the New England Patriots are refusing to visit the White House. It has been Superbowl tradition for the winning team to visit the POTUS after the big game. However, tight end Martellus Bennett and free safety Devin McCourty have both announced that they will be skipping their team's visit to the White House.
McCourty sent a text to TIME stating his decision to join his teammate. "I'm not going to the White House," he wrote. "Basic reason for me is I don't feel accepted in the White House. With the president having so many strong opinions and prejudices I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won't."
